Recruiting New Officials
The documents below are templates that can be customized for your team and handed out during New Parent orientation meetings at the start of the season, in September.
They can also be inserted as ads in meet programs, handed out as flyers, send as emails or added to the club electronic newsletter sent to parents.
They can also be used to post information on your clubs web site.
1. Pick a format
2. Customize it for your team
3. Select a strong, enthusiastic senior official on your team to act as your "Team Lead",
"Officials Coordinator" or single point of contact for parents looking for more information.
4. Select several officials on your team to serve as "Mentors", who can guide apprentices and new officials
during their initial journey (a critical time when we loose many new officials).
5. Reach out and ask for help getting organized, or scheduling additional clinics to fulfill the needs of your
new recruits. The Georgia Swimming Officials Committee is here to help.
6. The schedule for new clinics and the online registration is on the home page of this website. We can
schedule additional clinics if the need dictates.
7. Feel free to make up your own ads, flyers, emails. If you do; please send us a copy so we can include it
here for others to use.
8. Also send us any tips, feedback, best practices you develop for recruiting new officials.
Thanks
